The Pilates Method of Body Conditioning is the art of strength, stretch and control. Legendary physical trainer Joseph Pilates developed this unique exercise program in the 1920’s. Pilates classes target core muscles providing a full mind-body conditioning system with innumerable benefits including:
Improved Posture/ Alignment
Reduced Stress/ Tension
Improved Balance/ Coordination
Reduced Lower Back Pain
Injury Prevention/ Rehabilitation
Grace and Ease in Everyday Activities
Its six principles -- concentration, control, centering, precision, breath, and flow -- train the body to move efficiently with minimal impact on the joints. The balance between strength and flexibility creates a healthy, symmetrical workout for all muscle groups resulting in a leaner, more balanced, and stronger body.
*Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and San Francisco’s “shelter-in-place” order, all Pilates sessions will be held online until further notice. If you are struggling financially and cannot afford Pilates, please get in touch (HERE) and we will work something out!
